The world’s a scary place right now, so it’s as good a time as any to watch the trailer for Eric Larue, a new film based on the play of the same name by Brett Neveu.
Starring Judy Greer, Alexander Skarsgård, Alison Pill, Paul Sparks, and Tracy Letts, Eric Larue is a moving story about the mother of a high schooler who committed a school shooting. According to the synopsis, “As Janice struggles to make sense of the horrific act, she is forced to encounter a community that is fractured and a world that is forever changed.” Michael Shannon directs.
In an interview with Mashable, Shannon, Greer, and Neveu all spoke about the importance of the film. Shannon said, “It felt like a way to participate, in a way. To use my skills to address something that feels very important to me.” Greer added, “It’s an important story and it’s told with such care.”
Eric Larue hits theaters sometime this year.
